REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAGELANG -- There is no rush in transferring state employees from Jakarta to Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan, said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.
"We need to focus. We do not need to 'flock' there," he said in response to a question about the continuity of the IKN Nusantara development, here on Sunday.
Nevertheless, he stressed on the importance of key ministries, such as the Ministry of Public Works, the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, and the Ministry of Finance, to carry out working visits to the new capital city.
"If it just a visit, no need to be crowded. The key ministries are enough," he stated.
Asked about when the presidential regulation on the state capital relocation will be issued, Hadi said that his side is still reviewing the document, before it will be signed by President Prabowo Subianto.
"We will keep studying it. When everything is ready, the President will sign (the regulation)," he said.
Previously on Wednesday (October 23), Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti stated that plan for the President to inaugurate the Garuda Palace is listed in her side's first 100 days of working plan.
"We are ready to inaugurate some (projects), like the Garuda Palace," she said.
According to the plan, IKN is expected to be completed and host state government and political activities starting 2028. President Prabowo Subianto has conveyed his commitment to complete the IKN construction within four years.
Previously on October 11, IKN Authority (OIKN) ensured that IKN construction would continue in Prabowo's government.
"There is no doubt about IKN continuity. It will be completed as a city world for all," spokesperson for OIKN, Troy Pantouw, noted in a statement from his office.
