REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) General (Purn) Dudung Abdurachman responds to the statement of DPP Chief General of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri who said the military and police are not neutral in the 2024 general election. Dudung judged the TNI and Police to be neutral.
“There is nothing if, for example, there is non-neutrality, and I believe that if the army and police leaders are not neutral, they must act decisively,” Dudung told reporters at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Sunday (4/2/2024) evening.
According to Dudung, Megawati's statement was an unfounded and tendentious accusation. “In my opinion, the TNI-police should not be afraid of such babbling, believe that we are neutral, that is,” he said.
Dudung then questioned why Megawati had not alluded to the non-neutrality of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). According to him, Megawati should also ask for a neutral BIN in the 2024 general election. As for the current head of BIN is General (Purn) Budi Gunawan who is a close person of Megawati.
“Yesterday it was not said how his bin was neutral. It should also say dong BIN (must) be neutral,” said Dudung, who is now a supporter of the second presidential candidate, Prabowo-Gibran.
Dudung said that BIN's neutrality appeared in the case of the Chief BIN Daerah (Kabinda) of West Papua signing an integrity pact to win the election of Ganjar Pranowo with 60 percent of the vote in Sorong, West Papua. The case led Brigjen Tahan Sopian Parulian Silaban to be removed from the post of Kabinda West Papua.
“The statement about Kabinda is one (example). That's where it's from? From BIN right? Mrs. Mega should also say so dong, right? If the (non-neutrality) TNI-police has no proof, there is no fact yet. I am sure that the TNI-police should not be afraid,” he said.
Dudung for the first time attended the presidential debate 2024 to support the Prabowo-Gibran couple. He attended with ex Menkes Letjen (Purn) Terawan Agus Putranto. Dudung was a member of the NDerek Guru (Ndaru) organization formed by Wantimpres member Lutfhi bin Yahya.
