REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono has officially been appointed as the General Chairman of the Indonesian Farmers' Harmony Association (HKTI) for the 2025–2030 term. The appointment was made during the 10th National Conference (Munas) in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Sudaryono described the position as a significant responsibility. He expressed a stronger motivation to contribute actively, especially since his role in the Ministry of Agriculture is directly related to food self-sufficiency.
"With an active HKTI, it can facilitate, streamline, and accelerate things that may have previously been considered difficult,” Sudaryono said after the Munas.
He also emphasized the end of leadership dualism within HKTI. In this Munas, the two previously conflicting factions agreed to unite under one organization.
"There will no longer be dualism after this, God willing," Sudaryono stated.
HKTI has experienced a split since the 7th Munas in 2010. At that time, the organization divided into two factions: one led by Prabowo Subianto and the other by Oesman Sapta Odang.
The Supreme Court (MA) once ruled Prabowo as the general chairman for the 2010–2015 period. However, Oesman continued to claim leadership of HKTI.
The dualism persisted. Fadli Zon succeeded Prabowo as general chairman for the next two periods (2015-2020 and 2020-2025).
