REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Siak Regency, Riau Province, managed to raise a donation of Rp 2.1 billion to help the Palestinian people who are facing the crisis.

“Thank God, this is a blessed land. Presumably this is the fruit of the generosity of the predecessors (Sultan Siak) so that we who live here can exemplify the good practices of this Sultan of Siak,” said Chairman of Baznas Regency Siak Samparis bin Tatan in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (29/11/2023).

Samparis judged what the Siak people did to represent the value of generosity inherited by Sultan Siak, where Sultan Siak showed his generosity with a donation of 13 million guilders for Indonesian independence. He said the donations collected came from the general public, government elements, schools, communities, community organizations, companies, and so on.

One of them is a donation from the Government of the Regency (Pemkab) of Siak amounting to Rp 337,360,000 resulting from the internal settlement of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the neighborhood of Siak. “I would like to thank ASN for contributing together to help the Palestinian people, hopefully it can be a charity of worship for all of us,” said Alfedri.

It is known that the donation was divided into two phases, namely the first phase of Rp 1.35 billion which had previously been distributed through Baznas RI on November 13, 2023. The funds were received directly by the Head of Baznas RI for National Coordination Achmad Sudrajat.

The rest amounting to Rp 775 million rupiah is currently still in the process to be channeled through Baznas RI.
