REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK has arrested the District head of Cianjur in West Java Irvan Rivano Muchtar on charge of corruption here on Wednesday. Five other persons also have been arrested.
"Six district officials including the head of the district administration and school master," deputy chief the KPK Laode M Syarif said.
KPK team in Cianjur moved early on Wednesday and arrested the six persons, Laode said. According to him, they have been brought to Jakarta for further investigations.
"The six persons were charged with bribery with money collected from school masters to be given to the regent," he said.
KPK has arrested tens of district heads over the past year on charge of corruption and bribery.
