Six countries to discuss terrorism in Manado

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- Officials from six countries will gather in Manado, the capital of Indonesian province of North Sulawesi, on Saturday, to discuss terrorism, an official said here on Friday.

"Tomorrow, (July 29) six countries, namely New Zealand, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, will discuss terrorism in Manado," Indonesia's coordinating minister for political, security and legal affairs Wiranto said.

He stated that coordination meetings have been held before for the preparation for the Sub-Regional Meeting on Foreign Terrorist Fighter and Cross Border Terrorism.

Indonesia will act as the host for the meeting that will discuss terrorism in Southeast Asia, he noted.

Wiranto remarked that focus will be put on how to study the anatomy, condition, and situation in South Philippines and how to overcome it together.

He remarked that all Southeast Asian countries agreed that they would not want to have their territories used by ISIS as its new basis.
