REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Employers' Association of Indonesia (Apindo) stated the confusion over the case of alleged fraud of PT Indo Beras Unggul (PT IBU) could affect future investment. Especially if the case was not handled appropriately in a short time.

"The uproar could spread to business uncertainty," Chairman of Apindo Anton J Supit said in a press conference in Jakarta on Friday (July 28). 

Local entrepreneurs and foreign investors would be hesitate to do business in Indonesia if the problem did not solved properly.

Anton said the sealing of PT IBU's rice milling plant in Kedungwaringin, Bekasi District, West Java, happened because the institutions did not understand their functions and respectives duties.  

The police Food Task Force put PT IBU's factory on grounds of committing business fraud and seized 1,161 tons of rice on late Thursday (July 20). A week later, Ombudsman indicated there was a potential maladministration in the raid. 

"We see the potential of maladministration of legal procedures conducted in raid, "said Lely said, at Ombudsman office, Jakarta, Thursday (July 27).
