REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BENGKULU – On September 1, ring of fire solar eclipse will cross some of Indonesia areas. The Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) said the eclipse can be observed from the 124 cities and districts in 10 provinces.
The luckiest 10 provinces are southern West Sumatra, Bengkulu, southeastern South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and west East Java.
"The eclipse can be observed in sunny weather. Moreover, eclipse occur at night so it will be covered with cloud," Head of the Observation and Information Section of the BMKG Office in Bengkulu Sudiyanto said.
Especially for Bengkulu, he added, the solar eclipse can be observed from almost all regions, especially Argamakmur, Karang Tinggi, Bengkulu City, Manna, Curup, and Kepahiang.
Those who want to observe the eclipse should avoid eye damage by not looking directly to the sun. "Use protective eyewear, such as sunglass," said Sudiyanto.
