REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- University students from 14 countries are ready to enliven the peace festival organized by AIESEC Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) at the Ratu Indah Mall, Makassar, South Sulawesi, on August 6.

Creative Design and Communication Supervisor at the Ratu Indah Mall Jesse Rezky stated in Makassar on Friday that representatives from China, Germany, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Thailand, Oman, Vietnam, Pakistan, Turkey, Morocco, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Kyrgistan, and Brazil along with those from Indonesia, as the host country, will enliven the special activities.

"The participants from dozens of countries are exchange students who are already in Makassar," she noted.

Rezky explained that students at the festival will organize a series of art and cultural activities typical to their country, including showcasing trinkets or characteristics of the country.

Rezky believes that this activity was specially created to offer a more relaxed ambience, so that the visitors can mingle with the participants and exchange information on the richness and culture of Indonesia.

"The activities will start at 4 p.m. local time. We take this opportunity and at the same time also invite the public to attend and witness the different types of culture of dozens of countries," she explained.

With regard to the event, Rezky pointed out that this was one of the community's activities that was consistently supported by the Ratu Indah Mall in terms of the management of the event.

Moreover, the Ratu Indah Mall's Management, in welcoming Indonesia's 71th Independence Day, is also deliberately raising the theme of peace.

This theme responds to the various achievements of Indonesia in supporting peace. Indonesia is the 10th largest contributor to the UN peacekeeping force that involves 124 countries, which support the organization by sending their troops.

Rezky said Indonesia has participated in the establishment of the world order to implement the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and has called back its troops after the purpose was achieved.

"All through the month of August, the Ratu Indah Mall will hold activities to promote peace, including showcasing the arts and culture of the 14 countries that will perform in a peace festival organized by AIESEC Unhas," she added.
