Former chairman of Muhammadiyah obtains award from Japan Government

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former Chairman of Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin has obtained award from Japanese Foreign Minister in 2016.

From a press release received, award from Japanese Foreign minister in 2016 were given to 142 individuals and 31 organizations worldwide.

Among the recipients of the award, there are two award recipients related to relations between Japan and Indonesia. Din Syamsuddin received an award from the Japanese government for his services to contribute the improvement of relations of mutual understanding between Japan and Indonesia. The award from Japanese Foreign Minister in the form of a letter of appreciation and souvenirs will be handed to Din Syamsuddin by the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Yasuaki Tanizaki in Denpasar, Bali.

In addition to Din Syamsuddin, one other person who received the award from Japanese Foreign Affairs minister in 2016 related to the improvement of relations between Indonesia and Japan are Tsuneo Sengoku. He is the owner, coach, and head of Sengoku International Judo Hall is considered meritorious in promoting Judo in Indonesia.

Award from Japanese Foreign Minister were given to honor individuals and organizations whose have made outstanding contributions. The bestowal also intended to all levels of society in many countries can be better understand, support, and actively conduct activities in various aspects in order to boost international public relations, as well as an enormous contribution to enhance of good ties with Japan.
