Mataram city administration to merge traditional markets

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Mataram City Administration, West Nusa Tenggara has planned will merger a number of traditional markets.

Deputy Mayor of Mataram H Mohan Roliskana said, some reasons against the proposal of traditional markets merger, among other in order management, structuring, and cleanliness handling can be more focused.

"In addition, to prevent traffic jams at any point, moreover all traditional markets located in the main streets," he said, Wednesday (3/8).

He added, a number of markets are considered to be merged, among others, Karang Jasi Market with Cakranegara Market, and ACC Market.

The merger will be conducted in the traditional market in ACC Market with Kebon Roek Market which the locations nearby. In addition, Mataram City Administration is making preparations development of Kebon Roek Market which will be relocated to the area of Kebon Talo.

With the availability of more than one hectare of land is believed to be able to accommodate traders in the two markets.

"The condition of the two markets not fully representative, so that we can prepare the land for merger these two markets will be better," he said.

According to him, if the two markets successfully merged into one, believed traffic congestion in the area of Ampenan and Kebon Roek can be resolved. He added, to build a traditional market, the local government can't do that, but at least the city authorities have set up the land.

"If we have prepared the land, physical development will be the responsibility of the government," he said.
