Vice president says fake vaccines dangerous

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The national police has uncovered the distribution of fake vaccines that are intended for infants. Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said the distribution of fake vaccines is a criminal that is endanger people's health, especially babies.

"The issue of this vaccine the criminal matter, of course this is extremely dangerous. Endanger to health, especially for infant and babies who injected with fake vaccines," he said at the Vice Presidential Office, Jakarta, Friday (24/6).

JK also appreciate the efforts of the police who do the best to reveal the fake vaccines.

"I think the police and  Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) already doing a good job," he said.

Known,  investigator of the Sub-Industry Trade (Subdit Indag) Criminal Investigation Police reveal fake vaccines distributed for babies on Tuesday (21/6). The fake vaccines sold in pharmacies with initial name ARIS in the area of Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. Director of Special Economic Crime Directorate of the National Police, Brigadier General Agung Setya said the police officers get some evidence. Namely pack hundreds of fake vaccines of various types, including measles, BCG, pentabio, tetanus, until hepatitis B.

Besides, officers have arrested pharmacy owner with initial name MF and a courier initials Th or Er. Based on the information from owner of Aris pharmacies, the fake vaccines were made in a house located in a residential area of Puri Bintaro Hijau Pondok Aren, Tangerang, Banten.

Then, authorities are also chasing the printing of fake vaccines label that located in Kalideres.
