Meanwhile, the non-oil export value in the same period reached US$1.8 billion, down by 11.1 percent over the previous year, amounting to US$2.0 billion.

Chinese imports also declined, with the value of Indonesia's non-oil products coming into the country between January and February 2016 pegged at US$ 4.9 billion, down by 6.1 percent over the same period in the previous year when the figure was US$5.2 billion.

Tjahya explained that the directorate general continues to encourage national exports through various means.

At the CIIE, Indonesia showcases various products, including branded consumer goods, metal works and automation.

"This exhibition is very important to introduce Indonesia's products to the world markets, especially to the Asian market," Tjahya noted.

At CIIE 2016, the Pavilion of Indonesia's theme is Trade with Remarkable Indonesia. Nine companies are , participating in it.

Last year, 331 participants from 30 countries, such as Japan, Korea, Poland, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Italy, Sweden, Germany, USA, and Brazil, participated in the CIIE.

More than 30,000 people are expected to participate, of which 13.70 percent will be coming from Europe, 39.52 percent from Asia, 29.03 percent from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, 16.14 percent from America and 1.61 percent from Oceania.
