REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SLEMAN -- State Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno inaugurated the operations of the Maguwoharjo Intermodal Passenger Transport Station in Sleman District, Yogyakarta, on Wednesday.
Intermodal passenger transportation, also called mixed-mode commuting, involves using two or more modes of transportation during a journey.
The Maguwoharjo Intermodal Station is an integrated transportation hub for several state-owned enterprises, such as PT Angkasa Pura I, PT Kerta Api, PT Garuda Indonesia, and Perum Damri.
"This Maguwoharjo Intermodal Station is an essential component of the tourism development program for Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang (Joglosemar)," Executive Vice President of PT Kereta Api Yogyakarta Regional Operations Hendy Helmi remarked here on Wednesday.
According to Helmi, the Maguwoharjo Intermodal Station was inaugurated as an integrated transportation hub due to its strategic location near the Adisucipto International Airport.
