REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with Vice President of the European Union Federica Mogherini at the Merdeka Palace here on Friday afternoon.

Jokowi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Trade Minister Thomas Lembong in talks with Mogherini.

Jokowi is scheduled to make a tour of a number of European countries including Britain, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands from April 17-23.

Earlier Trade Minister Thomas said he had met with the European Union Commission to discuss economic and investment cooperation Thomas said Indonesia was seeking free trade agreement with the EU.

Foreign Minister Retno said the government has conducted "scoping paper" as a reference for negotiations with the EU on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
