REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister Agrarian and Spatial/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) head Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY said it already has dozens of operational targets indicated as land mafia.

“We continue to process, we have dozens of operation targets, yes I can't unload one by one, because it needs to be stopped as well, it needs to be surprised,” AHY said in Jakarta, Friday (3/5/2024).

AHY said that the process of repression against the land mafia is something that the community has been waiting for, because during this time, according to him, the land mafia has been the cause of the emergence of insecurity related to the sense of justice in the community.

“Let alone small, low-income communities, those we consider to have high incomes, social and economic status are also at the top, but are often helpless victims of the land mafia. It undermines justice,” he said.

He said that the process of repression and imposition of strict sanctions will not only be given to the land mafia outside the environment of the ATR/BPN Ministry, but he will also clean the institution from the land mafia game.

According to him, this effort is a commitment of the ministry he leads to provide legal certainty over land, and realize a sense of justice for people in Indonesia.

“I say this applies externally and internally, why? , because we should not go out hard either, in it it turns out that there are still many unsolved problems. We want to clean it up inside,” he said.

Previously, AHY said that legal certainty related to land can directly improve Indonesia's economy because it encourages investment policy.

According to him, land is fundamental in all aspects, so by providing legal certainty related to land, it can provide attractiveness to investment.
