Czech Minister believes investment in Indonesia promising

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- After obtaining information on investment from the Indonesian government, Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek expressed confidence that the growth of foreign investment in Indonesia is promising.

"I believe that today, Indonesia is a promising economy for the Czech businessmen to invest," Zaoralek stated here on Friday.

The Czech foreign minister believes that the transportation and energy sectors in Indonesia could be developed by Czech businessmen.

Zaoralek remarked that he would discuss the results of his visit to Indonesia with Czech businessman.

"I am sure several opportunities exist for us to expand business in Indonesia in order to increase the value of bilateral trade and investment," Zaoralek affirmed.

The minister claimed that cooperation in trade and investment between the Czech Republic and Indonesia can be realized in the next few years.

Earlier, on Thursday (February 25), Zaoralek had made a courtesy visit to President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Jakarta.

President Widodo and the minister discussed the growing bilateral relations between both countries in the political, economic, and social sectors.

During the meeting, the president made assurance that the two countries can exploit the huge potential for investment in Indonesia in which the value of Czech investment during the period from 2010 to the third quarter of 2015 amounted to US$34.35 million.

The Indonesian Foreign Ministry also added that the trade value between the two countries in 2014 reached US$260.51 million.
