US food company to open factory in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Coordinating Investment Board (BKPM) targeted food investor in US to invest in Indonesia. Several US food company states will open factory in North Indonesia region.

BKPM Chairman Franky Sibarani said US investor interest to seafood processing and meat business sector. All this time, they are imported Indonesia seafood product to US.

"With Negative Investment List (DNI) for cold storage business, We hope US investor can came to Indonesia and do some investment on seafood downstream," said Franky on Wednesday (17/2).

Franky added, positive value from this investment is an investment location in North Indonesia region. That plan is harmonize with government purpose to support equal distribution of investment and economic growth in North Indonesia region.
