REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Thousands of visitors flocked to the Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII) in East Jakarta on Friday.

"Since 8 a.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB), the park has been crowded with vehicles," Abdul Gani, a security officer of TMII, stated.

Many visitors flocked to the park's favorite spots, such as the Snow Bay swimming pool, Golden Snail 3-D theater, Freshwater Aquarium, and a cable car.

On New Year's Eve, the TMII organized various events such as music concerts, wayang (traditional leather puppet) shows, fireworks, and a parade of 2,016 torches.

The TMII offers a miniature view of the magnificent archipelago in just a single day.

The extensive park offers a glimpse into the diversity of the Indonesian archipelago. It represents Indonesia's 34 provinces and their outstanding characteristics, reflected most strikingly in the exact regional architecture of the province.

The theme park is spread over an area of more than 100 hectares on the outskirts of Jakarta. All the Indonesian islands have been realistically replicated in miniature form in a central lake and around the lake.
