REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 1,169 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) were sent to Lebanon. The soldiers were part of the UN peace mission, who are members of Garuda Contingent Task Force (Konga Task Force) United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) 2015-2016.
Head of Public Relations to of TNI Colonel Czi Berlin G said, the soldiers were divided into several Task Forces. 850 military personnel belong to Mechanized Battalion Konga XXIII-J/Unifil led by Lt. Col. Dwi Sasongko and 75 military personnel belong to Military Police Unit (MPU) Konga XXV-H/Unifil led by Lt. Col. Zulkarnain.
Then, 150 military personnel belong to Force Protection Company (FPC) Konga XXVI-H2/Unifil led by Maj Inf Catur Sutoyo, 50 military personnel belong to Headquarters Support Unit Task Force (FHQSU) Konga XXVI-H1/Unifil led by Colonel Kav Jala Argananto, and six military personnel belong to Cimic TNI Task Force Konga XXXI-F/Unifil led by Captain inf Batara Alex Bulo.
There were also 18 military personnel belong to Military Community Outreach Unit (MCOU) Task Force Konga XXX-F/Unifil led by Major Inf. Roni Agus Widodo, 9 military personnel belong to Level 2 Hospital Task Force Konga XXIX-G/Unifil led by Major CKM Dr Purbanto Budi Susetyo, and 11 military personnel belong to Milstaf Seceast Unifil led by Colonel Inf. Abdul Rahman
"The departure was led by the Armed Forces Commander Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo," said Berlin, via short messages, Saturday (12/12).
The soldiers were asked to avoid violations that would hinder the implementation of the task. In addition, the soldiers must be able to learn from the success of previous forces.
