REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Thirteen countries are participating in a course on the implementation of the authority of the Constitutional Court being held in Jakarta on December 1-4, 2015.

"There are 30 practitioners and staff members of the Constitutional Court from 13 countries from Asia, Europe, and Africa," Chairman of the Indonesian Constitutional Court Arief Hidayat stated here on Tuesday (Dec. 1).

The thirteen countries are Russia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Timor Leste.

He noted that the course is based on the theme "Measures which Strengthen Institutions that Support Judges."

"This course focuses on the proper administration of justice to support the judges in order to deliver fair decisions to the community," Arief remarked.

In addition, the course will also shed light on the decision-making process used by the judges to provide legal certainty and to serve the interests of the community.

"The event is an initiative of the Indonesian Constitutional Court. The chairman of the Indonesian Constitutional Court also serves as chairman of the Asian Constitutional Court, so this event is also a program of the president of the Association of the Asian Constitutional Court," he explained.

Arief said that apart from Indonesia, this event is also held in several countries, including Turkey and Russia.
