REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President (VP) Jusuf Kalla was scheduled to meet CEO of Blackberry Canada, John Cen, in a series of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, in Manila, Philippines. The bilateral meeting between Kalla and John Cen was scheduled to take place on Thursday (19/11) at Hotel New World Manila.
Before meeting the CEO of Blackberry, the Vice President attended the Summit of Economic Affairs with the leaders of APEC countries with the theme of the discussion "Inclusive Growth through Integrated Economy" and "Elastic and Sustainable Communities".
The Vice President was scheduled to arrive in Manila, Philippines, Tuesday (17/11) night at 08:30 pm local time, to follow the series of APEC summit. Kalla and his entourage was scheduled to come back to Jakarta on Friday (20/11) morning.
Before his departure to Manila, the Vice President said that the APEC Summit was expected to improve economic conditions in Asia Pacific region.
"All regions experienced economic weakness. We expect this cooperation can improve productivity, people purchasing power, and market," said the Vice President at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, in Jakarta, Tuesday (17/11).
He said, APEC Summit would certainly be a lot of talk about economic issues, economic cooperation, and increased investment and trade.
"APEC talks more economic cooperation forum in the Asia Pacific region," he said.
Vice President attended the APEC Summit to replace President Joko Widodo who was unable to attend. The meeting was usually attended by the respective leaders of the 21 members.
