REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- Ministry of Transportation would conduct inspection of pioneer aircraft twin otter type. This aimed to check whether all Twin Otter aircraft that serve pioneer travel were still roadworthy.
"All Twin Otter including Aviastar will be going to be checked," said Minister of Transportation, Ignasius Jonan, Monday (5/10).
Twin Otter aircraft inspection would be conducted at the latest within one week. So that such inspection would not interfere the process of pioneering flight over Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Twin Otter aircraft belonging to Aviastar could eventually be found after searching for three days. This aircraft was found by the police and local residents near Ulu Sulu village in Luwu, South Sulawesi.
Chief of South and West Sulawesi Police, Inspector General of Police Pudji Hartanto, said that the police had coordinated with National SAR Agency about the discovery of the aircraft. The Aviastar aircraft had lost contact since Friday (2/10).
"Today we are heading to the crash site," Pudji said.
