REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), TGH Muhammad Zainul Majdi, revealed NTB's goverment will start to develop Islamic tourism, by developing the existing tourism.
"Islamic tourism is not something ideological," he said, in Mataram, Thursday (17/9).
According to him, in the world, the trend of Islamic tourism is increasing. People who want to get services based on Islamic values still continue to rise.
"I invited tourism stakeholders to take advantage of the business opportunities. We are as much as possible developing appropriate tourism characteristics that exist," he said.
He added that provincial government has a strong desire to develop Islamic tourism. Therefore, Zainul Majdi hoped that the halal tourism can give contribution to the advancement of Indonesian tourism.
