Floods lunges four villages in Aceh

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Data Information and Public Relations, National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said that while most of Sumatra and Kalimantan lands were affected by fires, flash floods lunges Bener Meriah district, Aceh Province, Sunday (13/9) at 17.30 pm. The floods caused by torrential rain.

"Four villages were hit by flash floods," said Sutopo in a press release on Monday (14/9).

The four villages were Panteraya Village and Uning Gemile village in Wih Pesam, Karang Jadi Village and Damaran Baru in Timpang Gajah. A total of 262 people displaced in elementary school building and at a nearby mosque.

Due to the flash floods, as many as 14 houses were heavily damaged, seven houses were damaged, four houses were slightly damaged, two cars were heavily damaged, and 2 motorcycles were also heavily damaged and eight buffaloes has lost.
