The oldest Indonesian hajj pilgrim is 93 years old from Kendari

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KENDARI -- La Ode Baeru bin La Ode Manemane (93 years old) became the oldest Indonesian pilgrims this year. La Ode Baeru was from Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

"From 338 pilgrims, the oldest pilgrim is 93 years old. Meanwhile, the youngest pilgrims is a woman aged 26 years old," said the head office of Ministry of Religious Affairs Kendari, Sainal Mustamin, in Kendari, Sunday (6/9).

He said hajj pilgrims from Kendari will depart from Kendari to Makassar Embarkation at 9th September 2015, by Haluoleo Airport.

"The flight will be done twice. In the first departure, there will be 166 people and in the second departure, there will be 168 people. All pilgrim will be departed to Saudi Arabia at 11th September 2015," he said.

All hajj pilgrims from Kendari were belonging to 19th fleet from Makassar embarkation (UPG). He hoped that all pilgrims can maintain health during the pilgrimage.

"Those who smoking can stop for health and physical readiness," he added.
