23 percent of Indonesian pilgrim Indonesia already in Mecca

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MECCA –- A total of 37,031 pilgrims from Indonesia or 23 percent of the total regular Indonesian pilgrims are already in Mecca, Saudi Arabia until Saturday (5/9) at 17.00 local time.

"Until this afternoon, Indonesian pilgrims who are already in Makkah Al Mukarramah, were from 90 fleets (flight groups)," said the Head of Siskohat, Muhammad Reza, Saturday (5/9).

Reza described those who already arrived consisted of 36,581 pilgrims and 450 Indonesian pilgrims officers. 29,996 pilgrims came from Medina after completing Arbain worship at Masjid Nabawi. They were from 74 fleets which accompanied by 370 fleet officials.

"6,585 pilgrims were coming from Jeddah with 80 officers who were from 16 fleets," said Reza.

Indonesian pilgrims who entered Mecca from Medina, were from first wave departure. Meanwhile, Indonesian pilgrims who entered Mecca from Jeddah, were from second wave departure. They landed at King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah, and traveled about two hours to Mecca.
