Ministry of Religion Starts Preparing Services for Hajj 2024

There are three types of transportation services that Indonesian pilgrims will receive.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Religious Affairs (Ministry of Religious Affairs) starts preparing for Hajj 1445 H/2024. Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Organization (PHU) launches accommodation and catering team to begin preparing hotels and worshippers consumption in Saudi Arabia.

“The Accommodation Team and Catering Team have left for Saudi Arabia on November 27, 2023,” said Foreign Hajj Service Director Subhan Cholid in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/11/2023).

He said the Transport Team will follow, leaving for Saudi Arabia on November 30, 2023 to prepare bus service needs for pilgrims on Hajj 1445 H/2024 A.D. According to Subhan, Indonesian pilgrims will stay in Saudi Arabia for about 41 days.

For nine days in Medina and the rest in Makkah. “The team will prepare Hajj hotels both in Makkah and Medina,” Subhan said.

For catering services, this year pilgrims will receive 127 meals, consisting of 27 meals in Medina, 84 meals in Makkah, 15 meals during Arafat and Mina (Armuzna), one heavy snack in Muzdalifah, and one meal at the Saudi Arabian Airport (Jeddah or Medina).

“The team will prepare the procurement of the kitchens of the Hajj service providers in Saudi Arabia, they should be able to prepare meals flavored with the archipelago,” Subhan said.

In addition to accommodation and catering, Indonesian pilgrims will also receive transportation services. There are three types of transport services.

First, the service from the airport of Medina to the hotel in Medina (and vice versa). Secondly, the intercity bus service from Medina to Makkah (and vice versa). Third, services from Jeddah airport to hotels in Makkah (and vice versa). Fourth, shalawat bus service.

“The transport team will prepare the procurement of a fleet of buses used by Indonesian pilgrims. We have formulated a number of specifications of the vehicle, including a maximum manufacturing age of five years,” explained Subhan.

Subhan said the accommodation, catering and transport teams will be on duty for more than 30 days in Saudi Arabia. Hopefully the service procurement process can run smoothly and optimally.
