REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General insurance gross premiums in the first half of 2015 was about Rp 28.1 trillion. That number grew up by 10.2 percent compared to the first half of 2014.
Executive Director of the General Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAUI), Julian Noor, explained the biggest growth in the first half of 2015 in the gross premium was achieved by the insurance business of possessions about Rp 7.94 trillion.
"It increased by Rp 1.2 trillion from the same period in 2014, Rp 6.7 trillion," he said, Monday (24/8).
It was following by insurance company of motor vehicle with an increase of Rp 534 billion. So that the gross premium became Rp 8.1 trillion. Previously, the first half of 2014 the gross premium was Rp 7.6 trillion.
Julian also said gross claims on general insurance increased by 37.3 percent compared to the first half of 2014. The amount was Rp 13.5 trillion.
"The highest increase in beginning of 2015 was occurred in the insurance business of possessions. It reached Rp 1.5 trillion," he explained.
