REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDINA -- The air temperature in Medina, Saudi Arabia, reached 35 to 47 degrees Celsius. In the morning and evening, warm temperatures felt in the entire Medina. The temperature was usually 35 degrees Celsius and the extreme heat occurred just before the noon.

The temperature can cause problem for Indonesia pilgrims, because Indonesian people are accustomed to experiencing hot tropical temperatures with a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius.

"Pilgrims will get a heat stroke or heat attack that leads to dehydration," said the Head of the Regional Health Work Jeddah, Purwakaning Purnomo Agung in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Friday (21/8).

Indonesia pilgrims will arrive at the Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz (AMAA) airport in Medina, Friday (21/8). The first batch came from the UPG I Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Agung reminded the Indonesia pilgrims, once arrived in Medina, should immediately consume a lot of water to avoid dehydration. "To avoid the heat stroke, pilgrims have to drink plenty of water and eat fruits," he said.

Heat stroke is very dangerous for pilgrims. Dehydration due to the hot air will disturb the system and the function of organs that can lead to loss of consciousness and even death. Therefore, Agung asked the entire pilgrims not to underestimate this heat attack.
