REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Indonesia strengthen cooperation with Taiwan on immigration and people smuggling prevention. The strengthening cooperation was carried out by the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) Taiwan and The Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) Indonesia.

Head of KDEI, Arief Fadillah, said that there were several agreements. Those agreements were cooperation in exchange data of Lost and Stolen Passport, exchange information and communication lines between the Indonesia Directorate General of Immigration, with the National Immigration Agency (NIA) in Taiwan, and cooperation on immigration and repatriation of immigration violators.

"The cooperation with Taiwan is very important, because there have been increasing numbers of Indonesia citizens in Taiwan every year," said Arief, Selasa (18/8).

Previously, Indonesia has established cooperation with Taiwan on September 2012. He hoped that this cooperation will strengthen the relation between the two countries.
