REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) recently. Both parties agree to increase their teamwork, especially in international trade. Turkey has the best performing economy in in the world, especially when Europe plunged in to economic crisis.
Head of The Institute for Research, Education and Economy and Social Information (LP3ES) Rustam Ibrahim compared achievement of Jokowi and Erdogan governances. Recently, Jokowi was on public criticism after rupiah depreciation to US dollar.
The fact, Rustam, who is known as Jokowi's supporter, expressed his defense for former Mayor of Solo. "There is almost no more powerful currency against US dollar! Don’t you believe it? Just look at that," he said by his Twitter account @RustamIbrahim.
"Even if the US dollar exchange rate is the standard of leadership, so President @Jokowi is two times better than Erdogan," he added.
Rustam said, rupiah depreciation to US dollar was commonly happened, emphasizing that every currency almost depreciated against US dollar.
