REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti insisted that there was no infringement procedure performed when the police released shooting on the incident in Tolikara, on Friday, July 17. Shooting, Police Chief said released after the negotiations were not successful.

Badrodin explained, the negotiations conducted by police   with a group of people who came to Muslims who were conducting Eid prayer. The police then asked the intent and purpose of their visit. Police requested that they should wait pilgrims completed the worship of Eid prayer.

Badrodin denied that the incident was police intelligences failure in maintaining security in Tolikara. Because, the anticipation has been done before by the local police chief after being informed of the Circular Letter (SE) prohibition of executing Eid prayer.

Coordination with the president of the Working Committee of the Evangelical Church in Indonesia (GIDI), said Badrodin also been done. President GIDI said the letter was not official because without the approval of the president GIDI.

In addition, continued Badrodin, the police have also been coordinated with the local Regent. Regent promised to coordinate with the local organizing committee that the letter was revoked.

"So the local police chief (Kapolres) felt confident told pilgrims 'please pray, I'll watch," said Badrodin explained.
