Commission II DPR makes evaluations ahead of Pilkada

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Commission II Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) Rambe Kamarul Zaman revealed a number of evaluations related to the preparation for the simultaneous local elections (Pilkada) 2015. In addition to budget problems, it was also highlighted the readiness of human resources of election organizers.

"The subjects of our evaluation ahead of the election registration process are matter of budget and human resources readiness. About the budget, it should be ensured, is it really ready and enough?" said Rambe when contacted by ROL, on Monday, July 20.

He said that currently around Rp 570 billion already in the area. For the security of the elections budget required by Police was Rp 1.2 trillion. According Rambe, budget issues should be resolved anytime soon.

As for the readiness of human resources, he said that the need for technical assistance (bintek).

"The organizers of the elections should be prepared. For that needed the technical assistance (bintek). A budget sufficient for bintek should be also considered too," he added.

As is known, the initial stage of the elections will start on July 26. On July 26 to 28 will be opened registration of regional head candidates in 269 elections executive regions.

Based on the audit findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), some time ago, there were 10 things that caused the unpreparedness of simultaneous local elections. One of the 10 it was related to budget issues.

Previously, Commission II recommended the postponement of local elections. Postponement made if the budget until the period 26 to 28 July elections has not been fulfilled.
