REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan denied accusation from the Economic Observer from the University of Indonesia (UI), Faisal Basri, about disobedience in carrying out the task. Through the Special Staff of the Transportation Minister Hadi M Djuraid, Jonan denied that he always refused a meeting invitation by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Sofyan Djalil.

Special staff of Transportation Minister, Hadi M Djuraid said Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan never got a call from Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs about the meeting invitation.

"If the Transportation Minister Ignatius Jonan did not attend some meeting invitation by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, it solely due to on official trips outside of Jakarta, or at the same time there was an important agenda that had been scheduled previously," said Hadi.

An invitation from the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, he said, often came suddenly. It was difficult for Transportation Minister to adjust the schedule and agenda of existing ones.

For example, since Eid transportation operations inaugurated on July 2, 2015, Transportation Minister practically was out of town. When there was the problem of air transportations as a result of volcanic ash of Raung Mount, during the two days Transportation Minister was in the airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai to lead and supervise the reduction of existing problems.

Transportation Minister, said Hadi, never distinguish whether the meeting invitation came from the Coordinator Minister for Economic Affairs which was directly coordinating the Transportation Ministry or not. Meeting invitations from the Coordinating Minister for Maritime relatively there were no problem because generally previously scheduled and there was no more urgent agenda.

In the case of the Transportation Ministry could not attend the Coordinator Minister for Economic Affairs or Coordinating Minister for Maritime, Transportation Ministry was always send representatives of relevant echelon I officials. Meeting decisions related to the Transportation Ministry always followed up in accordance with the duties and functions.

So, Hadi explained, personally and in his capacity as minister, coordination between the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Sofyan Djalil and Transportation Minister, Ignasius Jonan were good based on the duties and functions of each.
