REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO -- The wedding of President Joko Widodo's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka with Princess Solo 2009, Ananda Selvi, attended by many officials. ‘Akad nikah’ on Graha Saba Buana Sumber, Solo, on Thursday, June 11, at around 9:15 pm, was witnessed by a number of important officials.

Among of them were the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri, State Secretary Pratikno, Chief of Presidential Staff Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, and National Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti as well as Deputy Chief Commissioner General Budi Gunawan.

Meanwhile Mayor of Solo FX Hadi Rudyatmo became one of receptionists in wedding. Some invited guests who were present that were the son of former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Edy Bhaskoro Yudhoyono and his wife Alya Rajasa. After the completion of 'Akad nikah', it will be followed by reception invitations until 13.00 pm.

Previously, Gibran smoothly utters 'ijab qabul' in marriage procession. On that time, Gibran not necessary to repeat 'ijab qabul' and only said once and then the witnesses said the word valid.

"Now, they legally become husband and wife, according to Islam and to the law," said the head of Religious Affairs Office (KUA) of Banjarsari Solo, H. Muchroji.

Gibran fluently reciting 'ijab qabul' although previously had looked tense and stiff, even occasionally leaned forward and backward, while Selvi Ananda sat half bowed at his side.

According to the plan, president will hold another tradition Javanese wedding ceremony known as "ngunduh-mantu" for his son in Jakarta. In addition, the second wedding ceremony in Jakarta would be held after the upcoming Islamic holiday, Eid, in July 2015. But no date has been finalized.
