Minister wishes Indonesia regains glory in SEAG 2015

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SINGAPORE -- Indonesia's Minister of Sports Imam Nahrawi has expressed hope for the country to once again emerge victorious in sports events.

"The Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this year is expected to serve as an impetus to revive sports in Indonesia to turn the country into what it used to be in the field," he said on the sidelines of an SEA Games football match between Indonesia and Cambodia at Jalan Besar Stadium here on Saturday evening.

Regarding the enthusiasm of supporters of the country's team, the minister responded positively, stating that it was extraordinary.

"This is extraordinary," he remarked while hoping Indonesia would win the match.

After the first half concluded, Nahrawi left the podium to join the supporters.

Some supporters took selfies with the minister while flying a small red-white banner with "Indonesia" written across it.

Earlier, Nahrawi also watched the rowing, equestrian and wushu events.
