REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Interfaith Forum should be able to pursue advocacy for the Rohingya refugees.

"The forum is very necessary to see the condition of the current Myanmar government has always dodged by saying that those whom evacuated were not Rohingya people," said Secretary General of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Abdul Mu'ti, on Monday, June 1.

He explained that these conditions should be made inter-faith forum to encourage joint action which was political advocacy and role model for human values. During this time, the harmony between religious people peacefully practiced by the religious communities in Indonesia.

"They provide assistance and solidarity actions on the call of faith according to their religious teachings," he said.

Abdul assessed that the interfaith forums would show that the human problem was the problem together. He pointed out the Rohingya case, eventhough strong their religion dimension, it actually led to political and racial issues.

"So, inter-faith forum right to see the universality of humanity even though they adhere to different religions but have commitment in addressing humanitarian cases," he said.
