REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The chairman of Commission VIII House of Representatives (DPR) from National Mandate Party (PAN) faction, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, Commission VIII felt grateful because President Jokowi finally signed Presiden Regulation Number 64 of 2015 on the cost of Hajj (BPIH) in 2015.

"Although a little late than promised by Minister of Religius Affairs, but Parliament still appreciate the seriousness of ministry to organize Hajj this year," said Saleh, on Thursday, May 28.

With the signing of the Presidential Regulation, he expected that all prospective pilgrims to pay off the rest of their Hajj Pilgrimage Cost (BPIH) payment.

However, the Commission VIII also lamented the President Jokowi's statement which stated that the reduction in the BPIH as if only ministry’s work unilaterally.

In fact, Saleh explained, Commission VIII of DPR has evidence that the  proposed reduction by the government was only 26 US dollars. Thanks to the hard work of DPR to comb all the components of BPIH, finally it obtained a considerable efficiency of up to 502 US dollars.
