Minister Sudirman says Petral discussion enlightening

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said finally responded former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)’s tweeted about the dissolution of Pertamina Energy Trading Ltd. (Petral). Sudirman accused during this time the dissolution of Petral always stopped at SBY’s desk on public discussion on Sunday, May 17.

He admitted that he was glad if the discussion was done on Sunday, May 17, could open the eyes of many sides. "Related to the situation of energy, oil, and gas management in the past, I'm sure the managers and all stakeholders much more understand than me," said Sudirman, on Tuesday, May 19.

Regarding the meaning of the words 'open the eyes' and ‘more understand’, Sudirman not willing to disclose any further. He was sure the people must support his steps to improve governance of oil and gas, especially to eradicate mafia of oil and gas.

Sudirman stated, as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, he was just trying to carry out his duties and responsibilities to perform a variety of improvements in the management of energy, including oil and gas sub-sector.

"Communicating the backdrop of a policy and policy implementation steps are part of the public task that should be assigned to a minister, including the improvement of the governance of oil and gas," he said.

Sudirman also said that he even grateful for the public discussion with reform of the governance of oil and gas team opened the eyes of many people, that many things that had to be repaired.

"We are open to discussions with all parties to continue to improve management policy of energy and mineral resources in order to give the best benefit to the people," he continued.
