REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The State Intelligence Agency's (BIN's) former deputy chief As'ad Said Ali said the government should involve Muslim organizations for addressing issues related to the ISIS radical group.

"The government needs to involve Muslim organizations, such as the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, for addressing issues of the ISIS radical group by creating a climate of tolerance," As'ad said on Friday (20/3).

According to him, there was a tendency that the concepts and ideology of ISIS had been accepted by a certain group of people in Indonesia.

As'ad noted that involving NU and the Muhammadiyah in efforts to address the problem was a wise move and would moderate the already extreme and radical views.

The Nadhlatul Ulama Central Executive Board's (PBNU's) Deputy Chairman reminded the government that it should anticipate the influence of the Al Qaeda and the ISIS' ideology on a certain group of people.
