REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- At least two Indonesian tourism agencies are promoting tourism sites to the people of Germany during the tourism expo themed, "ABF Reisen & Urlaub" held at Messegel'nde, Hannover Exhibition Grounds, Europaallee, B'rohaus, Hannover.

The Indonesian Consulate General in Hamburg is collaborating with Travindo Multi Express and PT. Faputra Buana Indah to promote Indonesian tourism at the expo held on February 11-15, 2015.

Hannover is the capital of Niedersachsen state, which is located in northern Germany and is a leading venue for holding world-class exhibitions, Consular of Culture, Social and Information of Indonesian Consulate General in Hamburg Indri Arsad told Antara on Thursday.

Both agencies are promoting potential and interesting tourism sites in Indonesia including Lombok, Raja Ampat, Flores, Komodo Island, Bunaken, Wakatobi, Samosir, and Toraja.

The promotion is organized to showcase Indonesia's tourism potential to the European countries, particularly to the people living in northern Germany. It is believed that the promotion will help to achieve the government's target of attracting 12 million international tourists in 2015 and 20 million visitors in 2019.

At least 500 international participants are promoting their tourism and shopping packages under three different themes: "Active & Fit", "Caravan & Camping", and "Travel & Holidays."

According to the Consulate General, Niedersachsen is a good potential market for Indonesian tourism and can help to increase the state's foreign exchange earnings.
