REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo ensures that the price of 88-octane Premium fuel dan subsidized diesel fuel will decline soon. The price follows the declining global oil price.
"It is a bless from God. Fuel price will decline. The price may become 6,400 to 6,500 IDR per liter. We are still calculating," Jokowi said during Indonesia Outlook 2015 seminar on Thursday, January 15.
Jokowi refused to mention when the government would announce the fuel price. However, government said earlier that the price of fuel would decline on February 1, 2015. "We can decrease the price tomorrow or maybe next week," he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister of Economy Sofyan Djalil said government would decline fuel price as soon as possible. "We haven't finished the calculation, but the sooner the better," Djalil saidm About the calculation, Djalil explained that government planned to decrease fuel price due to declining price of global oil. The price of global oil reaches 50 USD per barrel. "The global oil price declines significantly. We have to be fair to people," he said.
