REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KENDARI -- The Wakatobi district administration in Southeast Sulawesi is currently building a city park on an 11-hectare plot of land in the district town of Wangiwangi, according to Wakatobi District Head Hugua.
"For the Wakatobi district administration to obtain the land at no cost from the local tribal community to build the 11-hectare city park in Wangiwangi is a spectacular achievement," Hugua stated here on Wednesday (7/1).
He noted that the construction of the city park commenced on December 18, 2014, which coincided with the 11th anniversary of Wakatobi district.
According to him, some 14 thousand trees of different varieties will be planted in the city park, and therefore, he has instructed all regional working units (SKPD) in the district to ensure that the trees are well maintained.
"Each SKPD has the same role in planting the trees and is responsible for maintaining them," Hugua affirmed.
