REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi issued a policy that asked state officials not to throw any sumptuous celebration. It includes wedding and other parties. Party is only allowed if the guests are not more than 400 people.
The circulating letter No 13/2014 on the Action of Simple Life is issued on November 20. "It is to follow up President instruction during cabinet meeting dated November 3, in order to promote modest life for all state apparatus and good governance," the letter said.
The letter is intended to all minister in Working Cabinet, Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces, Indonesian National Police, Attorney General, the Heads of Non-Ministerial Government Agencies, the Heads of State Bodies, Governors, Regents and Mayors.
Besides ruling on the number of guests, it also prohibits state officials to send flower arrangements. And also, government officials are not allowed to use high cost advertorial publication.
