REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Central Executive Board of the Hidayatullah organization supports the Indonesian government in preventing the communist ideology from gaining a foothold in the country, according to its Chairman Nashirul Haq.
"An ideology that opposes Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution must be prevented from spreading and should be eradicated. We support the government to prevent the spread of the communist ideology by providing the best possible education to the younger generation," Haq remarked after meeting Vice President Jusuf Kalla here on Monday.
During the meeting with the vice president, Haq voiced the concerns of the society and Muslim leaders on the signs of the resurgence of communism in the country.
Haq explained that according to the first principle of the state philosophy of Pancasila, the belief in the one and only God was obviously contrary to the ideology of communism.
