REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Maritime and Fishery Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti angered at illegal transshipment that she found in South China Sea near Natuna Islands. The practice was seen from Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) and Radar-SAT.
A group of small vessels were seen warming a 150-meter-long ship. "It indicates transhipment. The big vessel is collecting fish from the small ones," she said on Friday, November 21, after working visit to Berau, Pontianak and Natuna.
"Do they think we don't know about it? Let them know that we can see everything that happen in our sea," she said.
The business-woman turned minister will make a move by sinking the illegal vessels. "The President has said so. We must do it," she said.
