REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING -- Indonesia and Russia agreed to enhance cooperation on infrastructure investment, supporting President Jokowi's maritime vision. The agreement concluded in bilateral meeting between Indonesia's President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Russia's President Vladimir Putin in the sidelines of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
The two heads of states talked on efforts to boost Russian infrastructure investment in Indonesia. Russia is currently developing investment plan on aluminum smelter worth 1 billion USD in Indonesia.
Their first meeting also aims to reach Indonesia-Russia trade target of 5 billion USD in 2015. For the last three years, trade between Russia and Indonesia is increasing from 1.68 billion USD in 2010 to 3.52 billion USD in 2013.
