Mataram welcomes foreign investors to develop ecotourism

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, M Zainul Majdi gave opportunities to foreign investors who wanted to invest in ecotourism sector in the province. He delivered it during the visit of Indonesian Ambassador to ASEAN (Ngurah Swajaya) and Minister Counsellor of Indonesian Embassy in Singapore (Mirza Nurhidayat) in Mataram on Monday.

"We give priority to ecotourism development, which put attention for environmental aspect," the Tuan Guru Bajang said recently.

According to him, West Nusa Tenggara has natural beauty and unique culture. He believes that ecotourism will attract many tourists. Foreign investors must put sustainability principle and environmental preservation.

Indonesia, especially Lombok has a great opportunity to become the top investment choice for investors in ASEAN. Currently, the largest investment in ASEAN is still centralized in Singapore.

"Indonesia is the third option, but we have to prepare our resources to deal with the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015," Swajaya added.
