REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia's biggest cement producer, PT Semen Indonesia, has recorded net profit of 2.78 trillion IDR in the first half of 2014, an increase of 8.61 percent compared to 2.56 trillion IDR in 2013. President Director of Semen Indonesia, Dwi Soetjipto said that company also recorded a revenue of 12.88 trillion IDR, or increased 12.8 percent if compared to 11.42 trillion in 2013.

"We will maintain our business by performing various strategies, in terms of production, distribution, expansion, efficiency and opportunities," Soetjipto said recently.

According to Soetjipto, the economic growth during the first quarter of 2014 slowed 5.2 percent. In second quarter of 2014, the level is predicted to be stagnated due to global economy, especially China. The general election also affects spme sector, including investors.

"We believe that annual sales growth in 2014 will reach 6-8 percent. It will rise again in second semester," Soetjipto said.

Semen Indonesia will continue to maintain market potential in various areas, especially abroad. Company is building new factory in Rembang (Central Java) and Padang (West Sumatra). Current total factory capacity reached 31.8 million tonnes. With factory development, the capacity will rise to 40.8 million tonnes in next three years.
